Film on ORT at the exhibition « After the Holocaust »
So far, over 7000 people have already visited the exhibition After the Holocaust. Survivors and Refugees, 1944-1947, inaugurated last January the 28th at the Holocaust Memorial in Paris.
In this exhibition, ORT is well-represented among the institutions which have contributed to the reconstruction of the Jewish communities in Europe. Indeed, the action of ORT after the war was very important for thousands of Holocaust survivors. Thanks to its training courses and also the tools and machines that it distributed to the Jewish people, ORT gave the opportunity to many young people and adults to work again. After several years of exclusion and persecution, the organization enabled them to re-integrate into society, either in France or in a new country (in the United States, Canada, Palestine,…)
For those who have not yet seen the exhibition, you can discover the short film made by the Holocaust Memorial mainly based on ORT-France records. But don’t worry, you still have time to go and see the exhibition, which will be open until 20th November 2016.
Moreover, the exhibition catalogue is now available and has a double-page spread about ORT’s activities in the immediate post-war years. If you are interested, you can read it at ORT-France head office or buy it online or at the Holocaust Memorial bookstore.
For more information about the exhibition, see the dedicated website.
